Two US friends 04/21/2015

Net, net, best hike ever, and both Cam and I have taken many, many organized hikes. Yours was fabulous.
Loved the restaurants Sir & Star, Glen Ellen Star and Pogglia. They were just outstanding, and to miss them would have been a crime.
Loved the two drivers, Kevin and Bridget. Both delightful.
I would love to do the hike a second time, and I hope to be able to talk someone into it. Thanks again.

We would like to say a big thank you for organising our trek. We had a fantastic time and the holiday exceeded our expectations.
We had so many different and wonderful experiences that it's difficult to say what we enjoyed the most. Highlights include seeing a coyote standing a few feet away from us, the mist hanging in the trees in Muir Woods, making it even more magical, seeing dolphins playing in the sea at Limantour Beach, the friendliness of people we met and the variety of places we stayed.
The walk over Golden Gate Bridge was a 'must do' experience. Sausalito was charming. Lying in bed at night in Muir Beach and Olema, listening to the coyotes howling was eerie but exciting! Another first for us both - kayaking on Tomales Bay. I was a bit apprehensive, but the guide put us at ease and was competent and friendly. She even took photos with her phone and emailed them to us. There was a mix up over the start time, which meant we had to wait longer than we should have, but the guide offered to stay out over our allotted time (which we did). We saw seals bobbing up in the water a few feet away and pelicans taking off and landing in the water.
As for the hotels, I think our favourite for location was Inverness. We woke early both mornings and watched the sunrise over the bay - so beautiful. What a treat too to have dinner cooked for us. The caterer was efficient and friendly, putting us at ease in what for us could have felt a slightly uncomfortable experience. The food was delicious and there was so much of it we had to save some for the next day. Our favourite hotel was in Glen Ellen. The Zen Suite was awesome. I was sorry that we didn't really have enough time to enjoy all the facilities there. Whilst we enjoyed the wine tasting, I think we would have preferred to maybe have just one wine tasting visit or even none at all on our last full day, as for us the hiking and scenery were more important than the wine tasting.

Incredible! Beautiful surroundings, off-the-beaten-path hikes (maybe it was the holiday week effect?), great food, amazing wine, helpful, friendly people… we really had a wonderful, wonderful time.
We loved the hikes: whether we were going through neighborhoods, on remote-feeling trails, atop mountains, or on the forest floor… We were awed by the beauty and tranquility at every turn. The guide was great – the instructions alongside the maps kept us on course. Only one or two spots were we not entirely sure but we made the right choice so no problems.
There was one day that the hike was described as “challenging.” I would suggest adding this warning to the Sausalito to Muir Beach day, too. Maybe include a warning to “flatlanders” that a gain and loss of 2300 ft is nothing to sneeze at :-D
We enjoyed meeting the Trek folks along the way, Maryellen, Brigid, and our transport to Point Reyes Seashore Lodge (his name escapes me). The meal and wine & cheese that Maryellen provided – outta sight! Brigid was a lot of fun to chat with and it was fun to learn about the area from everyone we talked with. It was also great meeting Mary (and her husband, who had to give us a ride to the hotel after we drank wine with the winemaker past dark!) He was a lot of fun – very interesting – and we are looking forward to a wine shipment from him! We really enjoyed meeting him and hearing his take on wine. Oh, and our guide on the kayaking trip was also great!
Marin County seems like such a special place. It was inspiring to hear how it’s cared for and preserved by the folks there. It was just beautiful… The little sliver of moon over the bay in the early morning (we were still on Dallas time, evidently!)… that image will stay with me always.
I hope we’ll be able to trek with you again sometime – it was truly magical!! Many thanks to you and all who contributed to our experience!

We had a great time and very much enjoyed all accommodations and services along the trek.
We will be telling our family and friends about Wine Country Trekking.

This was one of the best experiences I have had. Diana and I haven’t been on vacation together since 2004. In fact I haven’t taken a vacation since 2004. We also realized we have never gone on vacation without kids. This was a chance to just be. I loved everything about the trip. The detailed guide was flawless and the lodgings were perfect. I love the small inn experience and the length of the hikes was enough to be a work out, but not enough to damage our old bodies. Interestingly enough Diana gained 6 pounds and I gained 8. The food was too good. I ate a significant fraction of my body weight in raw oysters. One of the beauties of this hike for couples is that you talk about and think about all of the things that have gone unsaid and unexamined for far too long and 10 days allows you to do this leisurely and to give the process the time it needs to mature. I love the walking, but I do that every day. I love the eating, but I do that every day. Most of all I want to thank you for the undivided attention Diana and I were able to give each other. That is the real gift of Wine Country Trekking.
